Enjoying the Holidays in Spite of the Hype!

Does your stress level begin to edge up as the holidays approach? Does this time of year drain you of energy in spite of the cheerful ads and commercials? Do you find yourself taking care of everyone but yourself? Do you find that your to-do list gets so overwhelming that you can’t turn off the thinking and planning?

Join us in Ithan Hall on Monday, December 11th at 7pm as we explore the dynamics and physical impact of this challenging holiday spiral, and learn realistic strategies to ease the stress and bring balance to this time of year. A panel of community professionals will discuss mental and physical health and wellness, and offer useful strategies that will help us better enjoy this wonderful and time of the year in spite of the hype!

Community Block Party

Christ Church Ithan participated in St. John A.M.E. Church’s block party and sponsored a craft table for the children.  It was a great way for us to be part of this community event and thanks to all who helped make this happen and to those from our church who stopped by to offer their support.  Pastor Manuel Howard was most appreciative.  He is doing great things in a short time to revitalize this neighborhood church.

Fill The Bus

It’s that time of the year when ECS is holding their back to school drive to support children in need of basic school supplies.  Each year CCI commits to helping this project by filling 5 back packs.  Tags with items needed are in the back of church.  Please take 1 (or 2 or 3) to help meet our goal.  Supplies will be due back by August 28th!

Reading with the Radnor Police

Our series of CCI-sponsored police reading to children events concluded today with a bang! Forty five children showed up at Odorisio Park in Wayne where Lt. Chris Flanagan read two books and then two other officers arrived with patrol cars and invited the kids to climb in and out of the vehicles.  Jeff and Cooey Lyon spearheaded this initiative and worked closely with the Radnor Parks and Recreation Dept. as well as the Radnor police. They provided not only drinks and snacks but tremendous enthusiasm, with the goal of creating a positive and fun setting for children to interact with police.
